Blanche goes full on dictator
In one of her many contemplations, Blanche stumbled across the deliciousness and irresistibility of power. She sees the opportunities in instability, whether it's economic, political, environmental, or technological, and just harvests the discontent accordingly. A reaper of mayhem exploiting collective ignorance, notions of hierarchy and a deformed democracy that is so terribly messy and difficult even at the best of times. And the mob loves her for a while at least, so they don't have to think.
Blanche, a nihilist to her bony core, always looks good, and here avoids the muscled vulgarity often associated with fascism. Rather, she embraces a simple elegance, taking her accessory fashion cues from Roman antiquity and modern America. She may lose the empire but never her style.
A rather famous Canadian collector one admonished that I didn't "need to bash people over the head so much, you know." But I think I do rather. Humans seem to learn nothing from history. Empires come and go with predictable regularity and patterns. The dictator acts as both symptom and harbinger of the end. Many who have not benefited so much from the imperial dominance may rejoice.
